Communications

When notifications get sent or when an elevated user sends a message to a staff member, those notifications and messages display to users in the Communication Center. 

  1. Communication Center Menu: Click here to access the Communication Center. If you see a blue bubble with a number, it is a visual indicator how many unread notifications you have. 
  2. Date Range Selector: You can review messages based on date range or schedule period. This can be helpful if you are needing to review message that are coming up quickly.
  3. Read/Unread: There are two tabs. Initially messages will appear on the unread tab. Once the message is open and viewed in Smart Square, it will move to the unread tab an be maintained historical purposes. 
  4. Filter and Sort Bar: Messages can be sorted and filtered by any of the columns. Click on the the three lines to filter to a specific message, Click just to the left of the 3 lines to sort ascending or descending. You can sub-sort by multiple columns by holding the control key on the keyboard.
  5. View Details: To view all details of the message, click here, or double click in the white space of the row of the message. This will open a panel on the right (shown below).

6. Documents: The Documents tab houses any attachments your organization has chosen to share. 

7. Clear All: When filters are set in any columns, you can clear all filters at once with this button.

8. Columns: Determine which columns you want to display. This will remain the same during the duration of your Smart Square session.

9. Search all columns: Instead of querying just one column at a time, you can look something up in all columns! For example: Let's say you want to look for when the last self-scheduling period closed. You can type in, "self-scheduling," to determine when self-scheduling last occurred and see any other related self-scheduling communications.
